UCS hardware

./MegaCli -LDSetProp -CachedBadBBU -Lall -a0

 ./MegaCli -LDSetProp -WB -Lall ?a0

그리고나서 다시 설치한 결과 정상 설치 된다.

다음은 tac엔지니어가 알려준 방법으로, 메일을 남긴다

===================================================Cisco tac E-mail============================================================

The Developers did have a look at the logs again that we collected and want you to have a look at the at the status of theof hard-disk cache battery backup unit on the C210-M2 itself.

Because we have seen cases were afailed or degraded battery unit can cause the disk cached to go intowrite Throughmode which means the cache is not enabled.

This results in degraded disk performance and failures during db installs

Please follow the following steps to check and workaround the battery :

Failing CUP Installs - Disk Cache related

Problem
Installing Cisco Unified Presence fails on a virtual machine running on hardware such as the UCS C210M2 if the battery backup unit (BBU) is missing or running in a discharged state.

This condition occurs when the battery disk write cache is disabled. The effect is poor disk performance causing the database installation on Cisco Unified Presence to fail.

Solution
To fix this issue, manually enable the battery cache. This restores performance and completes the installation.

1. Enable SSH on the ESXi host by signing in via the management interface.
Note This is the management console available by connecting a monitor to the server, or via the Cisco Integrated Management Controller.

2. Copy the MegaCli program onto the ESXi host. MegaCli can be downloaded for free online.

3. Run the following command to check the current state of the battery cache, it should say writeBack, writeThrough indicates the cache is not enabled :
../MegaCli -LDInfo -L0 -a0

4. If you cannot replace the BBU, run the following command to temporarily enable the cache: ./MegaCli -LDSetProp -CachedBadBBU -Lall -a0

5. Check the current cache policy again. It should now say "WriteBack". The battery cache is enabled and the Cisco Unified Presence installation should proceed to completion.

6. If a good battery is subsequently installed then run the following command to enable the cache proper again : ./MegaCli -LDSetProp -WB -Lall ?a0

NOTE:   Manually disabling the battery cache as a workaround is not advisable for customers as it could result indata lossin the event ofhard diskfailure.

The battery should ideally be replaced prior to install attempt.

So let’s try and find the status of thebattery unit and if itsdegradedyou can always open a case to get it replaced in the long run but for the temporarily let’s see if we can enable the cache and if we can install presence if this is the issue.
